Just six-and-a-half short months after Yadier Molina (aka, Yadier Fucking Molina) forgot he was a useless .216 hitter and decided to hit the home run that destroyed the Mets' great season, what did I have to watch last night?

Benji, Yadier's older, paunchier brother went deep twice in the same inning (that'd be the Giants' nine run inning). It didn't even matter that the first of those home runs never left the ballpark and the umps blew the call.

To put it in perspective: the last S.F. Giant to go yard twice in an inning was a fella named McCovey. The guy with the cove named after him. With a plaque in a small-town museum in upstate NY. The guy who managed to hit 519 other homers beyond that two-fer inning.

Molina? 85 other homers. Only thing named after him was a dog. No plaque, just a large plate of cheese fries. What have the Mets done to deserve this?

I blame Clemens & Steinbrenner.

Who do I have to kill to get Wright to start playing like the first round draft pick that he is?

May I echo Mr. Royal above?

After last night Roy Oswalt is 19-1 against the Reds lifetime. 19-1. Incredible. Oswalt threw a game last week where he threw 90+ pitches and 75 were strikes. That's Oswalt, he understands the most important pitch in baseball - and he understands the second most important pitch; strike 2.

The winningest pitcher all time against the Reds is Phil Neikro with 39 (I think I have that number right, I know it is Neikro).

We have a new kid in center named Hunter Pence and he's a lot of fun to watch. Country strong, hits for power and average and plays a superior center field to boot.

I doubt the Astros make it to the post season this year though, I really think our pitching can't hold up. I've been wrong there before though.

I don't think Hunter Pence is long for the Astros. He's a true centerfielder who's just made for that MMP centerfield. Thus, I think the Astros will have to get rid of him so that it can put Craig Biggio back there again. Or Lance Berkman. Or Jason Lane. Or any of the many other non-centerfield centerfielders that the Astros have had since moving into MMP.

Can you tell that I don't think of Astros management?

And dwilkers: right on about Oswalt. The guy's been the best pitcher on the Astros since he came up in 2001.

Preach on, brother.

Is Yankee Derangement Syndrome like Bush Derangement Syndrome?

Since the Yanks are the GOP of baseball, the analogy's a good one.

But remember: we all know "BDS" is a right wing chimera.
