OPEN SOURCE RAZZ ZONE

A few weeks ago, on Ed's site, in one of those flourishes of bravado and hyperbole that I'm known for, I boldly & foolishly predicted to Ed that our boys in kelly green & white, the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, JETS would not qualify for the playoffs "no matter what," due to all the other teams that would have to lose. In fact, I assured Ed that if the Jets qualified, I'd be so happy & surprised at the development that he could "razz me without mercy" all over the internets if and when they did.

Well, the parity of the NFL being utter parody, the Jets won out, everyone else lost just about every game possible, and my favorite tenants of Giants Stadium get the honor of facing the 3-time champs in Foxboro next week. Let's go Gang Green.

And . . . so that my remaining 3 readers aren't subjected to highjacked threads, football wonkery, and Ed's vicious smackdown-o-thon of a deserving blogger, I offer this post to all those wish to join in the promised razz-fest. I accept my fate like a man! I only regret that I have but one post to lose for my National Football League team.

Or something like that. Have at me.

Wow, I get my own post to beat you up on?

Nice.

Oh ye of little faith. You doubted the Great Mangenius. I may have to look into having your rooting priveledge revoked.

Beware of the Penguin.
And his noodle-armed QB.

I expect big things on Sunday.

Of course, I made note of this on my site.

I have not yet begun to Mock.

I give you credit, you sacked up and admitted your mistake.

Ed, the Jets season is over. Enjoy it for the fun of watching football.

Jets are screwed. In a weird way I'm relieved -- now I don't have to get excited setting myself up for a season-ending loss in a big game.

I kinda feel like Toasty Joe.

I can't mock. At least your team is in the playoffs. My team's the Texans. The team with the number one draft pick in the 06 draft that managed to not only pass on Reggie Bush and Vince Young, but took Mario Williams, the second best draft-eligible defensive player on his college team.

So, I won't mock you for the Jets, but I'll just mock you because you're Mike.

Chad played well; I still don't wanna see his ass out there next year.

My man KClem better take this offseason seriously. There's a job to be earned.

Hey, if you don't like Chad, I've got a former number one pick of the entire draft that I'll gladly trade for him. He's got a great arm and can throw a tight spiral. He's a bit dented up and could use a new paint job, and he flinches a bit in traffic, but still...

He's not Chad. If interested, call Richard Smith or Gary Kubiak.

John - Not only no Vince Young, but he's JUST WINNING FOOTBALL GAMES for your old squad.

Gotta hurt. Gotta hurt bad. Almost as bad as the '80 NLCS. Or the '86 NLCS. Or the '04 NLCS. Maybe the '05 series? The '79 AFC Championship game?

John, you can come out now, I'm done.

I cop to it. Part of me is still dreading the pain I KNOW is coming. Argggghhh.

I stick to my words. I hope Chad goes 100-125 with 11 TDs, 0 INTS for 1354 YDs, as the jets go 4-0 and win the Super Bowl.

And then I hope he's traded or benched in the off-season so we can start putting together a real offense.

Chad's a great guy from what I know -- smart, tougher than credited, head in the game. But he's got no arm, and that's gonna kill him against good defenses.

Mike, while you're reminding me of great days in Houston sporting history, don't forget the '93 AFC Divisional Playoff game with the Bills. The Oilers blew a 35-3 3rd quarter lead to the Bills.

Then again, I don't want you to forget the 1994 NBA Finals.

Ah, John Royal brings up the Knicks. Good times.

Mike, so tell me, are you rooting for the Jets, or are you going to stick with your "they don't have a chance" bent?

Of course I'm rooting for them. Even if I thought they had no chance (I think they have a slight chance), I'd still root for them.

poor wording on my part, I knew you would root.
I meant to ask, do you think they can win?
I do. As you can tell from my post on my site today.
