RANDOM FLICKR BLOGGING # 6236

Monday (ugh) Morning. Tom explains.

1. "6236," uploaded by "xxxxxxxxx" on March 3, 2007:

***Author's Note: Picture & photographer's "name" removed at request of slightly paranoid anonymous mother***

Now you'll have to wonder what the caption below means. I assure you it's not as exciting as you think.

Whoa, I said "tickle me," not molest me!

2. "6236," uploaded by "cospho" on September 27, 2005:

After one too many arrogant "Western Culture" lectures by Professor Goldstein -- visiting lecturer at The University of Taipei -- Lao Shin was determined to prove once and for all that "those damn Jews aren't the only ones with horns."

3. "_MG_6236, uploaded by "gyomesz1" on November 9, 2006:

Whattaya mean we have to pay for the wedding??? I thought I just say "I do" and take you back to that cheesy room upstairs.

4. "IMG_6236," uploaded by "madhog" on August 14, 2005:

No matter how long they sat & stared, the undeniable fact that cold beers, char-broiled steaks, and scantily-clad college girls weren't popping out of Brad's "Magic Plastic Container" wasn't taking hold.

They were gonna give it just 5 minutes more.

That girl at the top is going to suffer permanent damage to her eyes if they don't get her some glasses that fit.

Indeed.

I think I also injured barney's ego. I got him mixed up with Elmo.

I like the last two. That groom looks awfully irritated. And those backyard barbeque guys look awfully depressed.

(Now why does that make me so happy?)

I've probably had too much coffee already...

Funny and strangely inspirational this week, Mike. Ah, Barney, my old nemesis -- we meet again...

Thanks, Steve. And I guess I should give Kelly a half thanks, since she liked half the pics. ;-)

I pondered photos 2 & 3 myself, but passed. You done them good.

Sometimes this random Flickr-blogging feels just like the guys in the last photo, no?

"Sometimes"?

But, in fairness, it's a nice way to open up Monday. You know, to just sliiiiiiiiide back into things after a weekend of cobweb-growing.

Ben - You trying to say that all Asian chicks look the same?

Or something about "me so horny"?

*** Disclaimer, not only am I "allowed" to make shady Jewish jokes . . . because I'm Jewish, but Mrs. Mike is Korean, so I can make equally outrageous Asian jokes. Bwahahahah, my birth & my nuptials in service of my stupid sense of humor. What a life.***

I sure hate Barney, but nothing's a worse influence on a child than a Tickle Me Emo doll

Thanks for showing me the pitfalls of putting my daughter's pictures on the internet. They were posted to make it easier for FAMILY to see since they all live far away. But I'll be sure to make sure they not so easy for strangers to find in the future. As far as her glasses... She was two years old in that picture and small for her age. Not so easy to provide "glasses that fit."

Sorry if this upset you in any way. Your daughter is adorable, and the joke seems to be on Barney.

The upsetting part was finding my daughters face on the same page with the words "molest me". I know that she is adorable. She's my world and I want to keep her safe. Now, I realize my best intentions put her at risk. If I could so easily find her picture on your page, then some freak googling the wrong combination of words could find her, too. If there is any way that you could remove her picture from your blog, I would appreciate it.

There you go. It's gone.

Now I get to offer my unsolicited opinion:

1. You are WAYYYYYY overreacting.

2. You're slightly paranoid.

3. I find it hard to reconcile your fears & concerns when it was you who put your daughter's picture on the web in the first place.

That said, it's so far from a big deal from my perspective that I'd be an asshole if I hadn't taken the picture down (you got the removal of your Flickr name as a bonus).

Hope this allows you to sleep at night, knowing that no one is attempting the impossible task of tracking down your daughter via an unidentified picture on a barely-read blog.

Ciao.
