828 for me. I never noticed that tally on the edit page before now.

I also never noticed until now that with Beta there's a "new post" link at the top of your blog's home page, bypassing the whole dashboard step...

For my own sake, I'm going to (naively) assume you meant that without so much as a shred of irony, facetiousness, or sarcasm.

I can be selectively dumb when it suits me.

I saw that, but I'm having waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy too much fun with "labels" to think about anything else right now.

Despite my endless whining and complaining earlier this week, I'm loving New Blogger so far . . . until it gets buggy & weird or eats a post. Then I'll hate it again, and start whining & complaining again.

I can be selectively hypocritical when it suits me.

I'm liking new Blogger for the labels too, and it hasn't eaten anything of mine yet, so I'm OK with it. I think I'm up to like 1400 posts now, but only about seven have actual insightful commentary.

Hey, don't knock it. That's at least 11 more than me.

Maybe change the name of the blog to The Selective Hypocrite?

Congrats, and keep up the fun labelling.

Here's to at least another 5000 more.

I'll second that.

You've got well over four times as many posts as me. Maybe by 2010.

Congrats. Here's to at least 500 more -- may only 495 be about the Mets.

Man! And I meant this post pretty much as a goof.

(Note to self: put up these sorts of posts all the time, and watch the wise men arrive from the four coners bearing frankinsense & myrrh every day.)

Anyhow though: Thanks, Shakes, Apple, Dwilk.

Agi & DED - Never need an excuse to tap the old keggeroo.

John - Only one month til. Getting excited?

George -

I figured if anyone liked the combination of esoterica, archanalia, self-referentialism, and other subtle suggestions of Mikeocentric egomania in those labels, it'd be you.

(And I mean that in a good way, of course.)

Glad to see I know my readers.

I can't wait for the season to start. March is one of my favorite months. It's got spring training and March Madness.

I'm going to have to tell some spring training stories over at the ClownVision Chronicles when I get the chance.

By the way, I hear that one of the Mets pitchers went all Rick Ankiel in his bullpen session yesterday.

Yes, I believe that was would-be Game 7 hero, Oliver Perez. Took out a photographers kneecaps or something.

And from what I hear, Ambiorix Burgos -- who I hereby dub, The Amburglar -- is even wilder than my man O-Per.

I will enjoy a Stone Imperial Stout in your honor this evening.

A question: if you run out of Silly Movies/TV Shows/Etc. of Your Youth, will you break into porn?

Just curious.

Okay then - get to work putting up more posts, Mike, ya slacker!

(I did something similar in the early days of my blog - I put up a post welcoming my 10th visitor.)

Smitty -

Well, I'm sure I have the virility, masculinity, and swaggering charm the role requires. It's just that cum-on-command thing that worries me.

Oh, you meant "write about" porn flicks. Never mind.

Believe it or not, I'm not really a fan of porn films. I don;t have any objections to it, just not really my thing. I haven't seen any of the "classics."

Thanks, Mort & Maurinsky.
