Apparently, none other than Scottie "Michael Who?!" Pippen is rumored to be a candidate for the next coach of the Chicago Bulls.

Frankly, I couldn't give the proverbial rat's ass about anything that goes on the NBA these days. But . . . I cared once. And therefore I have to ask the following: can a coach take himself out of the game for calling the final shot for someone other than himself?

Let me guess, you're a former Knicks fan?

I wouldn't say "former." If I gave a shit about the NBA, the Knicks would be my team.

My problem isn't the Knicks (though they obviously suck), it's the NBA as a product. I love basketball, but I just don't like the way the game is played in the NBA. Nor can I deal with the officiating.

Rodman would be a better fit for the NBA and would be a nice compliment to Isaiah Thomas in NY.

Pippen as coach, eh? Prepare for more losing if he's becomes the Bull's head honcho. As an erstwhile Knicks fan, perhaps you remember Mr Pippen refusing to go into game seven against the Knickerbockers. Apparently, this amazingly selfish act reduced big Bill Cartwright to tears.

I also seem to recall the X-man owning Pippen during that series. He never was as good as he was with MJ. Then again, who would've been? All in all, a fine player, but I never liked the cut of his jib, especially after I heard he demanded $50 bucks from a kid who asked for his autograph
on the streets of The Windy City.

I should have written, he never was as good alone as he was with MJ.
