STATING THE OBVIOUS
If I told you on February 20, 2007 (that'd be one year ago for the calendarily deficient among us) that one year later we'd be pretty much on track for a Barack Obama vs. John McCain presidential election battle, you'd have told me I was . . .
. . . well, what would you have told me? Let's play the time machine game.

I don't know if I would have said you were crazy, but I probably would have said it would have been Hillary versus Romney or even Thompson. McCain is such a dud and had lost before, so I didn't see him doing very well. I thought the Clinton machine would easily win. Shows what I know.
Rickey would've told you to take a cold shower, because that lopsided political matchup makes Rickey feel downright randy.
I would have found Obama believable.
McCain not, because the dyed-in-the-wool, W’s faithful 30%, and assholes like DeLay and Limbaugh can’t stand him. Maybe he’s just being sacrificed to save Romney for 2012 after $100 oil, zero growth and 10% inflation slay whatever Democrat gets elected.
txrad was predicting a Clinton/Edwards (or vice versa) DEM ticket. Still conceivable I guess, given the apparent delegate circus.
McCain's rise has totally shocked me although I'm not sure I had a clear idea or guess who it might have been.
I remember something about "forks" and "done" and stuff like that regarding McCain at my blog...
That McCain has the nomination locked merely shows how terrible that Republican field was.
Of course now he'll probably win in November, since America has this death wish, but still.

Was that me? If it's an "incorrect prediction" made in pontificating, too-damn-certain fashion, I could see my name at the bottom of the comment.
I'd have said you were smoking crack. My early picks were Romney and HRC, just based on my own limited universe.
Would not have guessed McCain but would have, and still do, think that Clinton could win this. Not that I'd prefer it.
You really think Hill can pull this out, huh? Wow, I've pretty much assumed Obama takes the prize for the Dems at this point.
